DEADLINE!!!!!!

And we're in great shape. Josh, we're counting on you:) We will work on the pages (quietly, since the accreditation team will be presenting information out in the Commons) from 12:30-4:00. Final. Absolute. Finished. We'll mail and then plan the party. J1's, you're invited on Thursday, if you can talk to your teachers about it.
Yearbookers, Dougie and Kristen are working on your spring spreads. Go ahead and look for or plan for photos. Think about your copy, too.
See you in the AM and I promise I won't complain about the rain, even while I'm on car duty.

Visitors

Good morning, everyone. Newspaper: Two days until deadline, and we're in good shape. We may have some visitors from the accreditation team this morning, but we'll just keep working. I would like to take a hard look at each of your pages this morning. And you'll need to exchange pages with each other to do an edit.
Yearbook: Let's get started on a design for the spring spreads. Talk to David about what photos are available and what you'll need. I know it's too early to write copy, but it's not too early to start the design.

I'm hoping spring weather returns soon. It's chilly today!

Don't Panic

When you see your pages, you will see lots of red marks. Don't panic. The editors have simply tried to help you see where you can improve the details of your design--less white space, even captions.You have two days to perfect it. And you will!
You all are doing a great job and should be proud of your efforts. Make sure you have placed your photos from photos to send!

New Photos

Some sports photos are in--check your pages for art and PLEASE be sure you give everything to Lizzy before you place it. Also, check your text for color (remember it's black not index). Everything is looking great. Let's go for ZERO mistakes this time:)

Check out this story! Make sure you spend time working with your pages--be creative! Use the resources in my room to be sure you don't design the obvious.

Photos, we need photos

Just a reminder for someone to take photos for both newspaper and yearbook this week. Don't we have tennis and soccer at home? And David, don't forget to get golf. Everthing is coming together well.

Without Me

It looks like I won't be in tomorrow, which is today if you are reading this on Tuesday. I'm not feeling too well, and it came on suddenly. But I know you will be just fine. We have a plan, and it's all falling into place. Keep the emails and conversations going between you, and I'll be back on Wednesday. We won't have class Wednesday because of senior exhibits, but that gives you an extra day to finalize your second article once Lauren sends it to you. Let's try to have everything in final (except sports) by Thursday. Have fun and work hard. Glad to see some blog commenting going on!
Lauren, will you give Daniel an assignment please? He needs to be working on a feature story. Maybe a "why I" ? Thanks!

Oddly Enough

One Week Until Deadline

Ok, it's really one week and one day, but who's counting. I'm putting three more stories in final today, so SOME of you can begin working on your pages. However, I am missing some first articles, which are late after today. In the meantime, if you have a few minutes....check out this journalism blog where students have their own blogs (the list is on the left side of the page). I'm leaving again at noon, but I'll be here until then if you need something.
